Bunchball, a San Jose, CA-based provider of online “gamification” solutions, has raised $6.5m in funding.
The round was led by Triangle Peak Partners, with participation from existing investors Northport Investments, Correlation Ventures and existing shareholders Granite Ventures.
The company intends to use the funds to invest in product development, marketing and sales, and expand into the B2B, loyalty and incentive market segments.
Bunchball’s Nitro platform is designed to enable businesses to track and reward participation across websites, mobile applications and social media by creating (or “gamifying”) meaningful and enjoyable experiences, with the aim of increasing loyalty and revenues.
Founded in February 2005 and led by CEO Jim Scullion, the company works with world’s leading brands and media companies, including Warner Bros., Comcast, USA Network, LiveOps and Hasbro.
