
The transaction, whose amount remained undisclosed, is expected to close in the second quarter od 2011.
The investment will help the company accelerate its growth. Key initiatives consist of expanding its global presence, as well as initiating a program of strategic acquisitions to complement organic growth.
SymphonyIRI currently offers two families of solutions designed to help companies create, plan and execute forward-looking, shopper-centric strategies across every level of the organization. They include:
– Core IRI solutions for market measurement, and
– Symphony Advantage solutions for enabling new growth opportunities in marketing, sales, shopper marketing and category management.
Following the investment, Symphony Technology Group will retain a significant equity position.
Chairman Romesh Wadhwani will remain on SymphonyIRI’s board along with existing management team. Corporate headquarters will remain in Chicago, as will European headquarters in Bracknell, U.K.
