Amplitude Raises $30m in Series C Funding

Amplitude, a San Francisco, CA-based product analytics company, raised $30m in Series C funding.

The round, which brought total funding to date to $59m, was led by Institutional Venture Partners, with participation from existing investors Benchmark Capital and Battery Ventures. In conjunction with the funding, Somesh Dash, General Partner at IVP, will join Amplitude’s Board as an Observer.

The company will use the funds to further scale its operations globally and build new solutions for product teams.

Led by Spenser Skates, CEO, Caitlin Haberberger, Chief Financial Officer, Matt Althauser, Chief Revenue Officer, James Donelan, Chief Development Officer, and Michelle Kim, VP of Marketing, Amplitude provides product analytics for companies to build, analyze and monetize their products through understanding user behavior, shipping faster and driving business outcomes.

The company, which now serves more than 5,000 companies, including Microsoft, PayPal, Hubspot, Autodesk, Booking.com and Twitter, has a team of 100 with plans to double again in the next 12 months. In the last 12 months, it added Tien Tzuo, founder and CEO of Zuora, Jyoti Bansal, founder and former CEO and Chairman of AppDynamics, and Phil Fernandez, Venture Partner at Shasta Ventures and co-founder and former CEO and Chairman of Marketo, as investors and opened an office in Amsterdam.
