7 Degrees, Inc., a Salt Lake City, Utah-based developer and provider of a business application (PeopleMaps) that analyzes the collective relationships of individuals, teams, and companies in order to show business professionals how they are connected to any other person or company, has closed a $6.8m Series B round of funding.Investors include Rho Ventures, vSpring Capital and Parkview Ventures.
In conjunction with the funding, Patrick Wack, venture partner at Rho Ventures and most recently CEO of IntraLinks, will also join 7 Degrees’ board.
Launched in October 2009 PeopleMaps combines personal and professional networks and contacts with the company’s Universal Social Graph Platform to uncover how individuals and their networks are connected to any other person or company.
The application is optimized for salespeople, recruiters, fundraisers, and job seekers, and is integrated into Salesforce.com, Oracle® CRM On Demand, and JobScience.
PeopleMaps allows salespeople to discover “key connectors” in their network, and prioritize their pipeline based on the strength of relationships so they can close faster deals. Recruiters and their organizations can use the application to find the best candidates in their collective personal and professional networks.
