GutCheck Closes $2M Series A Funding

GutCheck, a Denver, CO-based provider of online qualitative market research, has closed a $2m Series A round of funding.
The round was led by Highway 12 Ventures, with participation from Village Ventures, iModerate Research Technologies, Benenson Strategy Group and several entrepreneurs in the market research industry.
Currently in closed beta, GutCheck is designed to empower businesses to perform research without being burdened by the logistics and costs of traditional research methods.
The platform allows businesses and marketers can connect with 3.5 million qualified respondents through their proprietary, real-time recruitment engine. When a qualified match is found, GutCheck initiates an online, anonymous one-on-one chat where they can enter into a real-time exchange of information (e.g., Q&A, media, etc.). Businesses create projects with GutCheck for free, then pay $40 per chat.
The resulting transcript is then available to download and email to colleagues.
This initial funding will be used to support the company’s growing sales and marketing initiatives and grow the current panel of respondents.
In conjunction with the funding, George Mulhern of Highway 12 Ventures will join the company’s board of directors.
