U-Systems, Inc., a Sunnyvale, CA-based designer, manufacturer and supplier of automated breast ultrasound systems aimed at assisting healthcare providers in the early detection of breast cancer, completed a $10m funding round led by iD SoftCapital Group.
Other participants in the financing include existing investors Sycamore Ventures, Lumira Capital, Radius Ventures and PIIH.
This funding will enable the company to complete a clinical trial, designed to evaluate whether its FDA-cleared and CE-Marked somo•v™ Automated Breast Ultrasound System (ABUS) in combination with digital mammography is more sensitive to detecting breast lesions when compared to mammography alone in women with dense breasts.
