Four Local Companies Receive Support From Michigan Pre-Seed Capital Fund

Four more Michigan companies received investments totalling $924,000 from the Michigan Pre-Seed Capital Fund.
The recipients, which will use the funds to support thier commercialization efforts, include:
– Mandy & Pandy, a company that teaches kids Chinese through books, CDs, DVDs, toys, fashion, and television. Similarly, Mandy & Pandy teaches English to Chinese-speaking children;
– Algal Scientific, a company whose proprietary technology provides advanced nutrient removal for municipal and industrial wastewater allowing customers to meet stringent EPA standards, while producing algal biomass that can be used for biofuels and fertilizer production;
– Axenic Dental, a company that has created a disposable high-speed dental drill that can be used for any procedures in the dental market.
– RealBio Technology, a developer of a 3D cell culture tool within the life science industry aimed to transform stem cell research.
To date, 38 Michigan companies have received seed funding from the Michigan Pre-Seed Capital Fund, an equity fund that invests in technology-based companies to support business formation and acceleration.
