MoA Technology Raises £6.3M in Series A Funding

moa-technologyMoA Technology, an Oxford, UK-based crop protection discovery company, raised £6.3M in Series A funding.

The round was co-led by Parkwalk and Oxford Sciences Innovation.

Spun out of Oxford University’s Plant Sciences Department in 2018 and led by co-founders Professor Liam Dolan FRS, and Dr Clement Champion, MoA has developed a set of crop protection discovery platforms which aid the discovery of next generation sustainable herbicides using new modes of action from both natural and synthetic chemistry.

The company has developed three proprietary platforms based upon a combination of genetics, trait analysis and data analytics: MoA Galaxy, MoA Target and MoA Select. Each platform, when used in combination, offers the opportunity to identify new, effective and environmentally-sustainable herbicides.

The company will use the funds to generate several new product candidates to take into development and to create industrial partnerships that can then take these products to market.
