Brightwheel Raises $21M in Funding

brightwheelBrightwheel, a San Francisco, CA- and Denver, CO-based provider of management and communication software for early education, raised $21m in new funding.

The round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners with participation from Omidyar Network and existing investors Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, Eniac Ventures, GGV Capital, Golden Venture Partners, and Lowercase Capital.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate product development and expand the team.

Led by Dave Vasen, founder & CEO, Brightwheel provides a software platform for preschools, childcare providers, camps, and afterschool programs. The solution allows teachers to manage their day and communicate with parents, gives parents insight into what their children are learning, and automates the process of managing operations for administrators.
Teachers can track attendance, conduct learning observations, share videos, and gain insights into early childhood development while parents are able to engage in their child’s development and continue the learning at home.
The platform helps manage enrollment, staffing, licensing compliance, and tuition collection – all in one place.

To date, brightwheel has delivered over $300 million in tuition to small business owners across America.
