Cubic Motion, a Manchester, UK-based creator of advanced computer vision for digital entertainment, received a significant investment from NorthEdge Capital.
Following the deal, George Potts and Andy Ball will represent NorthEdge on the board.
The company will use the funds to further deploy and productize its core animation business, drive forward its extensive IP portfolio and expand internationally.
Led by CEO Dr. Gareth Edwards, Cubic Motion has developed vision technology particularly suited to real-time applications in social virtual reality, gaming and film production and known for its use in high fidelity facial animation.
The company has created digital content for a range of prominent video game publishers including Activision, Epic, EA, Ninja Theory and Sony.
Headquartered at Manchester Science Park, Cubic Motion employs a team of over 70 computer vision researchers, engineers, animators and producers.
