Token.ai, a NYC-based premium gift-giving mobile app, secured $2.5m in seed funding.
The round was led by Upfront Ventures, with participation from Slow Ventures and Human Ventures.
The company will use the funds to continue to expand operations.
Led by Jonathan Jarvis, CEO and Co-Founder, Token provides a free iOS gift-giving mobile app, which combines artificial intelligence with personal curation to allow shoppers to find gifts.
Shoppers can describe their needs, such as gift occasion, who it’s for, style, and budget. From there, the company’s team of gift curators leverage insights to make recommendations, ranging from brands to local experiences.
Every hand-picked “Token” is wrapped and shipped, accompanied by a handwritten card.
