Sesame Workshop and Collaborative Fund Launch Kid-Focused Venture Capital Fund

Sesame Workshop, a nonprofit educational organization focused on kid advancement, has launched a venture capital initiative.

Sesame Ventures will support the launch of tech startups that develop technologies in the education, health and social welfare for kids.

It will work in partnership with Collaborative Fund, an early stage investment firm that shares the vision to change children’s lives, to launch The Collab + Sesame Fund, which will focus on ventures in child development areas including education technology, health & nutrition, and social, cultural and family development.
The fund will assist the companies it invests in through strategic guidance, operational support, and by leveraging their extensive networks.
All portfolio companies will have access to Sesame Workshop’s staff, research and childhood development experience and expertise.

Led by Jeffrey D. Dunn, CEO, Sesame Workshop develops educational content for television, radio, books, magazines, interactive media and outreach. It is the creator of Sesame Street and other popular educational programs which are broadcast on PBS.
