Teforia Raises $5.1M in Seed Funding

teforiaTeforia, a Mountain View, CA-based maker of a tea brewing device, raised $5.1M in seed funding.

The round was led by Upfront Ventures, with participation from Lemnos Labs, PreAngel and InnoSpring, among others.

The company is using the capital to bring its tea infuser to the masses, with plans to continue research and development efforts toward future products and manufacture and ship its first devices in the coming months.

Led by founder and CEO Allen Han, Teforia provides an intelligent tea brewing device which uses proprietary machine-learning algorithms to allow people to personalize their tea with customizable flavor profiles, caffeine and antioxidant levels.
All tea packaging is made from paper pulp and is fully recyclable and compostable.
After selling out of the first batch, the company has announced the availability of an additional batch of 250 infusers for a limited time for a special pre-sales purchase price for $699. These devices will begin shipping in Spring 2016, after the first has shipped.
