uSens, Inc., a San Jose, CA-based provider of full 3D interactive solutions for virtual reality and augmented reality, completed $5.5m round of pre-Series A financing.
The round was co-led by IDG Ventures, Lebox Capital and Maison Capital with participation from Stone Capital, Fulcrum Capital, ChuanCheng Fund and Chalor Capital.
The company intends to use the funds to expand R&D in computer vision, 3D interactive solutions and business development in the United States and China along with further product development.
Co-founded in 2013 by Anli He, CEO, Dr. Yue Fei, CTO, and Dr. Chris Shi, uSens provides 3D interactive solutions for virtual reality and augmented reality. The company offers 3D gesture recognition on mobile platforms that combines virtual and augmented reality. Its latest product, Impression Pi, is a mobile VR + AR headset with gesture control and 6DOF head position tracking. Beyond gaming, uSens technology can be used in applications in education, healthcare, entertainment and business training. In addition to Impression Pi, the company provides the Fingo Virtual Touch (FVT), touch-free 3D interactive kiosks in China.
