Apropose Closes $1.875M Seed Financing

aproposeApropose, a Mountain View, CA-based software startup developing a web design analytics platform, closed a $1.875m seed financing.

The round was led by New Enterprise Associates (NEA) and Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from Pat Hanrahan (founder, Tableau) and Nick McKeown (founder, Nicira).

The company intends to use the funds to scale its core infrastructure and engineering team in support of its first product launch this fall.

Founded by Ranjitha Kumar, Jerry Talton, Maxine Lim, and Arvind Satyanarayan in 2013 and spun out of Stanford University’s computer science department, Apropose aims to make data an integral part of the web design process via a platform that includes data-mining and visualization features that aggregate and classify visual, structural, and interactive design information across the web. Its tools enable large-scale visual page search and provide comprehensive web design analytics. The platform can be used to track evolving design practice, compare site designs within target demographics, and identify and understand prevalent design patterns and pageflows.
