BeautyStat, Interview with Ron Robinson

Last week, BeautyStat joined TechLaunch, the New Jersey’s technology accelerator (read here the news), along with other seven digital startups.
Ron Robinson, Founder and CEO, joined us to introduce the project and the company.

FinSMEs: Hello Ron, Can you tell me a little bit more about you?
Ron: “I’m an independent cosmetic chemist. I’m a veteran product development executive who has worked for such leading beauty companies as The Estée Lauder Companies, L’Oreal, Avon Products and Revlon Products. I have been featured on NBC and CBS News, Forbes Magazine, New York Times, LA Times, and Womens Wear Daily and I’m currently a resident beauty expert for Cosmopolitan and Allure magazines.

FinSMEs: Let’s speak about BeautyStats. What does it do?
Ron: “BeautyStat™ is a tool that patrols the web to give consumers alerts of beauty product deals, discounts and personalized advice.
Essentially we are giving consumers a tool that will completely change the way they currently shop for beauty products by allowing them to comparison shop to find the lowest prices of their favorite beauty products. It also provides personalized content.

FinSMEs: What’s your business model?
Ron: “BeautyStat generates revenue through E-Commerce, Advertising and Market Research“.

FinSMEs: Speak about the company. Who are your team members?
Ron: “The management team is led by me and CTO Co-Founder, Vadim Dostman. Vadim Dostman has over 14 years of experience in web development, systems engineering, information security and IT consulting for several Fortune 500 companies.

FinSMEs: You are in TechLaunch at the moment. Can you tell me something about this experience?
Ron: “We just started the program. I can let you know more in a few weeks.

FinSMEs:…future plans?
Ron: “Our plans are to grow our user base to over 1 million consumers and create more tools to help consumers make smarter purchase decisions.
