PointsHound Closes $425K Seed Funding

PointsHound, a San Francisco, CA-based innovative booking service, closed a $425k seed funding round.

Backers included Erik Blachford, former CEO of Expedia, Spencer Rascoff, CEO of Zillow (Z) and co-founder of Hotwire.com, Paul Nelson, former president of Travelocity Global Partner Marketing, and Cal Simmons, Founder of Five Star Alliance.

Co-founded by Pete Van Dorn and Chris Boyd, PointsHound is a free online hotel booking engine that allows frequent travelers to earn loyalty points for staying in their favorite hotels and bonus rewards in the form of airline miles.
Members have access to over 100,000 hotels worldwide, including boutique and non-chain properties.
