bloomspot Closes $40M Debt and Equity Financing

bloomspot, a San Francisco, CA-based website offering deals for luxury experiences in restaurants, spas, travel and entertainment, has closed a $40m debt and equity financing.

The Series B equity round, amounting to $35m, was co-led by InterWest Partners and Columbia Capital, with participation from Menlo Ventures, True Ventures, QED Investors and Harrison Metal, as well as individual investors Erik Blachford, Chairman of Butterfield & Robinson and former CEO of Expedia Inc., and Gary Parsons, former Chairman of Sirius XM Radio.
Additionally, the company closed a $5m debt financing with Western Technology Investment.

Led by co-founder and CEO Jasper Malcolmson, bloomspot’s team includes former Yahoo! and eBay executives, along with individual investors, such as Blachford, Parsons, and Brad Garlinghouse, President at AOL, Consumer Applications Group.

The company currently operates in Los Angeles, New York, DC, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Atlanta, Denver, Seattle, and San Diego.
