Pluralsight Raises $27.5M in First Outside Funding

Pluralsight, a Layton, UT-based training company for software developers, raised $27.5m in its first outside funding.

The backer was Insight Venture Partners.

The company intends to use the capital to continue to expand its course library in topic areas of interest to software developers around the world.

Founded in 2004 by CEO Aaron Skonnard, Fritz Onion, Keith Brown, and Bill Williams, Pluralsight is a classroom-based training company for developers with more than 200,000 users in more than 100 countries. It currently offers more than 400 online courses, with 15-20 new releases per month (from $29 a month).

Following the investment, Insight will have two board seats on Pluralsight’s seven-member board of directors.
