Bigcommerce, an e-commerce platform for SMBs, has raised $20m in Series B funding.
The round was led by existing investors General Catalyst Partner, with participation from new strategic investor Mike Maples of FLOODGATE.
The company intends to use the funding to accelerate product development and expand the sales and marketing teams.
Launched in 2009 by Mitchell Harper and Eddie Machaalani, Bigcommerce is an e-commerce platform for SMBs, enabling them to launch professional online stores in hours.
Existing clients include Gibson Guitar, Pandora Jewelers, Collette Dinnigan and Willie Nelson’s Shop.
In addition to the funding news, the company revealed a brand redesign, which includes a new Web site, app store and a fresh new look for the product, a new company logo and tagline, “Sell More”.
