Open English Receives Venture Capital funding from Kaszek Ventures

Open English, a Miami, FL-based online language school, has received a B-1 funding from Latin American venture capital firm Kaszek Ventures.

In conjunction with the funding, Nicolás Szekasy, a co-founder and managing partner of Kaszek Ventures, has joined the company’s Board of Directors. Szekasy, was formally the CFO of MercadoLibre, Latin America’s largest online commerce and payments platform.

Led by CEO Andres Moreno, Open English provides both Spanish and Portuguese-speaking students with live language lessons through native English speaking teachers and multi-media learning content, all delivered over the internet.

The company intends to use the funds and the addtion of Mr. Szekasy to continue its development in Latin America.
