Cloudera Closes $40M Series D Funding

Cloudera Inc., a Palo Alto, CA-based provider of Apache Hadoop-based data management software and services, has closed a $40m Series D funding.

The round was led by Frank Artale of Ignition Partners, with participation from existing investors Accel Partners, Greylock Partners, Meritech Capital Partners and In-Q-Tel.

The company plans to use the funds to further expand its marketing and sales operations, and support key strategic initiatives.

Led by CEO Mike Olson, Cloudera provides Apache Hadoop-based software, training and support services designed to enable data driven enterprises to derive business value and actionable insights from structured and unstructured datasets. Its Distribution Including Apache Hadoop (CDH) is available to download for free at www.cloudera.com/downloads. Cloudera Enterprise, the company’s subscription-based software offering, includes the Cloudera Management Suite, for operating Hadoop clusters at scale in demanding production deployments.
