civilisedmoney Raises £100K through Crowdcube

civilisedmoney UK Limited, a Reading, UK-based online people-to-people financial services provider, has raised £100k through crowdfunding platform Crowdcube.

Backers include 121 investors, who acquired a 10% stake in the company.

Co-founded by Jason Scott and Neil Crofts, civilisedmoney aims to offer a range of financial services products traditionally provided by banks, enabling people to invest, donate, lend, borrow and transact money with each other directly at fair rates.

The company recently launched two crowdfunding products:
- Invest & Get Investment is equity-based crowdfunding for businesses to fund start-ups and expansion by connecting entrepreneurs with like-minded people to raise capital;
- CrowdFund & Get Funded is rewards-based crowdfunding where likeminded people can pool their money to back an idea, a person, a business or an organisation.
It also expacts to increase its offering with
- Lend & Borrow, which aims to connect people who want to lend money connect directly with people who want to borrow money, and
- civilisedgiving, which allows organisations and charities to collect donations from supporters to fund ongoing work or specific campaigns.
