The NaturallyCurly Network, an Austin, TX-based social network and community that connect people with curly hair and brands and professionals who service them, has raised nearly $1.2m in Series C financing.
Investors include NaturallyCurly’s Chairman Jimmy Treybig and new backers John Paul Mitchell, John Paul DeJoria, and Golden Seeds.
The company intends to use the funds to hire new people in technology and marketing, make acquisitions, enhance infrastructure, develop mobile applications, and expand its marketing initiatives.
Led by CEO Crista Bailey, NaturallyCurly is a collection of sites designed to inform, empower and unite a community of people brought together by a common interest – curly hair.
The network, which logs 1 million unique monthly visits, includes NaturallyCurly.com, the flagship brand, CurlyNikki.com, a natural hair blog; CurlStylist.com, a professional community,and CurlMart.com, a boutique e-commerce site.
