musiXmatch, a Bologna, Italy-based licensed provider of global lyrics solutions, has raised $3.7m in Series A venture funding from Francesco Micheli Associati.
The company intends to use the funds to expand their lyrics offering to application developers, music services and OEMs, mainly in the US and Asia.
Led by CEO and Founder Max Ciociola, musiXmatch enables end users to access over 5.3m lyrics from their favorite music services and personal music library. The company’s API (https://developer.musixmatch.com/), designed for commercial use, enables online music services to increase user engagement using officially licensed lyrics and music metadata.
musiXmatch has already partnered with music providers including BMG, Kobalt, Universal Music Publishing Group, Sony ATV Music, Harry Fox Agency.
