Sonico, a Buenos Aires-Argentina-based operator of a social network “that organizes people’s lives online”, has raised additional $1.7m in a second round of financing.
It adds to the $4.3m first equity funding raised during 2008.
The sum was provided by DN Capital and other major national and international investors.
As stated by Rodrigo Teijeiro, CEO and Founder of Sonico, the influx of capital will help the company boost its recently opened office in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and grow its social communications platform (now having over 43 million registered users).
Sonico will also continue to focus on developing strategic alliances and hiring the best professionals in the industry.
Founded in July 2007, Sonico employs over 80 people in its offices in Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo.
