Croatia, EIB Lends €100M to Zagrebacka Banka to Finance SME Projects

The European Investment Bank (EIB) is lending €100m to Zagrebacka Banka d.d. to finance small and medium-sized projects developed by SMEs and public sector authorities in the areas of industry, upgrading of infrastructure, environmental protection, energy efficiency and services including tourism in Croatia.
The EIB funds will help SMEs and municipalities to mitigate the effects of the current credit crisis and improve their access to medium and long term finance.
This loan marks the first transaction closed by EIB with Zagrebacka Banka, one of the leading banks in Croatia with 80.000 corporate customers.
It is member of the Italy’s UniCredit Group since March 2002.
