Mosa Meat, a Maasticht, the Netherlands-based food technology company that offers a cultivated beef hamburger, held a $10m third and last closing of its Series B funding.
This third closing brings the total raised in the round to $85m.
Investors in this tranche included new and existing investors like Nutreco and Jitse Groen, CEO of Just Eat Takeaway.com. The Series B funding round was led by Blue Horizon Ventures.
Led by Maarten Bosch, CEO, Mosa Meat is a food technology company pioneering a cultivated beef hamburger by growing it directly from cow cells.
The company intends to use the funds to extend its current pilot production facility at its home in Maastricht, develop an industrial-sized production line, expand its team, and introduce cultivated beef to consumers.
