Chunguza Travel, a Kampala, Uganda-based provider of a self-service online travel reservation platform, raised $200K in Seed funding.
Backers were not disclosed.
The company intends to use the funds to consolidate operations, build the team, amplify marketing, and critically, and accelerate innovation.
Led by Isaac Ntegeka, Sophia Oine and Ariel Ngoie, Chunguza Travel provides a platform that offers convenience for East African travelers. For the first time, residents can book flights, hotels, rental cars, tours, and activities to destinations worldwide – all directly from a local website. It integrates with familiar payment methods like M-Pesa, Airtel Money, MTN Mobile Money, Tigo-Pesa.
Launched in December 2023, Chunguza Travel serves individuals across Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Burundi.
