SteerLight Receives Investment From Stellantis Ventures

SteerLight, a Grenoble, France-based developer of LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) sensing technology, received an investment from Stellantis Ventures.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its development efforts.

Led by CEO François Simoens, SteerLight is advancing LiDAR technology for advanced driver assistance systems. Employing silicon photonics technology, which combines a universal semiconductor material with the speed of photos, the SteerLight LiDAR senses the surrounding environment in three dimensions with higher resolution and precision, and at a lower volume production cost, than currently available LiDAR systems.

The company is a spinoff of the French CEA-Leti technology center.
