NitroVolt Raises €750K in Pre-Seed Funding

NitroVolt, a Copenhagen, Denmark-based small-scale ammonia synthesis company focused on the agricultural sector, raised €750K in Pre-Seed funding.

The round was led by BackingMinds.

The company intends to use the funds to scale production and expand its business reach.

Led by CEO Suzanne Zamany Andersen, and CTO Mattia Saccoccio, NitroVolt is developing a small-scale ammonia synthesis unit to give farmers control over fertilizer production. The product will be a container-sized system, combining only air, water, and renewable electricity. Its aim is to decarbonized nitrogen-based fertilizer production one farm at the time, cut the logistic costs of distributing fertilizer, and make the agricultural sector more resilient to external factors and political issues.

Commenting on the news, Suzanne Zamany Andersen said: “Our technology makes it possible to produce ammonia locally and puts the end user in control of the production. This means that the production becomes resilient to supply chain volatility and green at the same time – something that doesn’t exist on the market today.”
