Bone Health Technologies Raises $5M in Funding

Bone Health Technologies, a Redwood City, CA-based health technology company, raised $5M in funding.

The round saw participation from Esplanade Ventures, Berkeley Catalyst Fund, as well as strategic investor and medical technology provider Terumo Medical.

the company intends to use the funds to support the final development stages its flagship Osteoboost vibration wearable, expected to launch later this year.

Led by CEO Laura Yecies, Bone Health Technologies applies science and medical expertise to create health outcomes for women and men at risk of developing osteoporosis and associated bone fractures. Its first FDA-cleared device, Osteoboost, aims to become a new standard of care in treating postmenopausal osteopenia.

Ella Seitz of Esplanade Ventures and Yushin Yazaki of Terumo were appointed as board observers.
