World View, a Tucson, AZ-based company which specializes in stratospheric exploration and flight, raised an undisclosed amount in Series D funding.
The round was led by SNC, with participation from both new and existing investors. As part of the Series D funding round, Jon Piatt, a seasoned executive in the aerospace and defense industry, will represent SNC on the board. Dennis Muilenburg, former Boeing chairman and CEO, current New Vista Capital CEO, and a 38-year veteran of the aerospace and defense industry, also joined the board.
The company intends to use the funds to support the demand for high-altitude intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities identified by the U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Department of Defense, and global defense forces, as well as demand for commercial remote sensing solutions.
Led by CEO Ryan M. Hartman, World View is a global stratospheric exploration company that works to inspire, create and explore new perspectives for the future. Through its legacy remote sensing business, Stratollite®, the company improves capabilities with research and engineering missions and space tourism and exploration.
