PowerSchool Acquires Allouve

PowerSchool (NYSE: PWSC), a Folsom, CA-based provider of cloud-based software for K-12 education in North America, acquired Allovue, a Baltimore, MD-based provider of K-12 financial planning, budgeting, and analytics software in the U.S.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

The acquisition supports the expansion of PowerSchool’s financial management, analytics, and workflow capabilities, providing schools, districts, and state education leaders with a comprehensive suite of K-12 data and analytics tools available to accurately plan budgets and provide clear visibility for their communities into district spending and the impact on student outcomes.

Led by Jess Gartner, CEO and Founder, Allovue helps educators make decisions about their budgets and spending by giving them dynamic, up-to-date, and user-friendly data. It works with districts and state departments of education across the country to budget, manage, and evaluate their spending—supporting workflow, analytics, and decision making for more than $50 Billion of K-12 spending on education resources for students.

Led by CEO Hardeep Gulati, PowerSchool is a provider of cloud-based software for K-12 education in North America. It offers end-to-end product clouds that connect the central office to the classroom to the home with products including Schoology Learning and Naviance CCLR so school districts can securely manage student data, enrollment, attendance, grades, instruction, assessments, human resources, talent, professional development, special education, data analytics and insights, communications, and college and career readiness.

The company supports over 50 million students in more than 90 countries and over 16,000 customers, including more than 90 of the top 100 districts by student enrollment in the United States.
