Maka Raises $2.65M in Pre-Seed Funding

Maka, a Lagos, Nigeria-based provider of a fashion and beauty e-commerce platform, raised $2.65M in Pre-Seed funding.

The round was led 4DX Ventures and Janngo, with participation from Palm Drive Capital, Jonathan Shipman and executives from delivery platform Wolt. 

The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its business reach.

Founded by CEO Diana Owusu-Kyereko in 2021, Maka is an interactive social commerce platform which, through live try-on hauls, reviews, and user-generated content from both creators and customers, enables users to discover products tailored to their personal styles in a scalable way. Founded on the principle of empowering users to discover their style and fostering representation, the platform combines technology with a dedication to community engagement to provide creators with an opportunity to monetise their content and empower users to make informed buying decisions.
