Ladder, an Austin, TX-based, provider of an app for strength training, raised $12M in Series A funding.

The round was led by Tapestry VC and LivWell Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its business reach.

Led by CEO Greg Stewart, Ladder provides a training app, which makes it easy to plan and maintain a strength training routine by giving users a plan for each day. With it, workouts are new each week and designed by an expert strength coach, with each Ladder coach focused on a specific strength-training style, such as pilates, HIIT, bodybuilding, and kettlebell training. The app offers a free quiz to find the right training plan.

The funding follows growth this year, with Ladder expected to reach 500% growth in its membership, now with more than 50,000 paying members. The app maintains a 4.9 rating on the App Store across more than 15,000 reviews.
