Climate Alpha Closes $5M Seed Funding

Climate Alpha

Climate Alpha, a Singapore-based provider of an AI-driven analytics platform for the real estate, asset management and insurance industries, raised $5M in Seed funding.

The round was led by Jungle Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its business reach.

Founded by CEO Dr. Parag Khanna, Climate Alpha uses a geographic information system (GIS) data and economic modeling to deliver a comprehensive solution for navigating accelerating climate volatility. Leveraging public and private data streams, along with proprietary machine learning algorithms, the platform generates forecasts of the financial impact of climate risks, guiding investments toward more resilient assets.

Early customers include institutional investors such as Oaktree Capital and BentallGreenOak, as well as several of North America’s largest pensions.

In the months ahead, the company plans to accelerate the deployment of its global resilience scoring and financial impact calculations. It also aims to work with major asset managers to establish a global fund to invest in climate-resilient real estate, while distributing data to customers via API and Snowflake to enhance accessibility and usability.

Dr. Khanna said that Climate Alpha plans to raise a Series A round in H1 2024 to pursue its agenda to leverage satellite and other proprietary geospatial datasets, build a comprehensive global resilience index and expand its offerings to investors in public markets.
