Membrion

Membrion, a Seattle, WA-based electro-desalination membrane manufacturer, held a second close of USD5.5m in its Series B funding round, bringing the total to USD12.5m.

The round was anchored by Samsung Venture Investment Corporation and Lam Capital, joined by Indico Capital Partners, Harvard Business School New York Alumni Angel Group, New York Angels, and GiantLeap Capital.

Earlier in 2023, the company had announced its first USD7m close of the Series B led by PureTerra Ventures with participation from GiantLeap Capital, Safar Partners and Freeflow Ventures. Membrion has raised a total of USD23m since its inception.

Led by Greg Newbloom, founder and chief executive officer, Membrion manufactures ceramic desalination membranes that can recover water in the harshest conditions. Its electro-ceramic desalination membranes yield endless possibilities for water recovery, allowing manufacturers to recycle water at previously inaccessible pH ranges and with challenging trace chemicals.
