Language I/O, a Cheyenne, Wyo.-based leader in real-time, business-accurate translation technology, raised $8M in Series A1 funding round.

The round was led by Joint Effects, with participation from Wyoming Business Council’s Wyoming Venture Capital (WYVC) Fund, Gutbrain Ventures, PBJ Capital and Omega Venture Partners.

The company intends to use the funds to expand the LIO machine learning (ML) team and platform that integrates generative AI to improve real-time translation quality and to ultimately generate language-specific, LLM-powered chatbots.

Led by Heather Shoemaker, founder and CEO, Language I/O provides real-time, business-accurate translation technology that empowers Fortune 500 companies to communicate internally and externally in any language. By plugging directly into existing tools such as Salesforce, Zendesk, ServiceNow, and Microsoft Teams, LIO generates accurate, brand-specific translations of user-generated content such as jargon, slang, abbreviations and misspellings. Its zero-trace and AI-enabled platform enables multilingual communication over live chat, email, chatbots, social messaging, and more.
