Emerson to Acquire Afag

Emerson (NYSE: EMR), a St.Louis, MO-based technology and software company providing industrial solutions, acquired Afag Holding, a Zell, Switzerland-based company which specializes in electric linear motion, feeding and handling automation solutions.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

The acquisition will enhance Emerson’s capabilities in factory automation, one of its four priority adjacencies, and create a motion portfolio combining Afag’s electric linear motion solutions with its pneumatic motion technology. The transaction is expected to close by the end of Emerson’s fiscal 2023, subject to customary closing conditions, including receipt of regulatory approvals. Afag will be reported in Emerson’s Discrete Automation segment.

Led by Adrian Fuchser, CEO, Afag provides electric linear motion, feeding and handling automation solutions serving customers in battery manufacturing, automotive, packaging, medical, life sciences and electronics.
