Voltpost Closes $3.6M Seed Funding Round

Voltpost

Voltpost, a NYC-based electric vehicle charging company, raised $3.6M in Seed funding.

The round was led by RWE Energy Transition Investments with participation from Twynam Funds Management, Exelon Foundation, Good News Ventures, Climate Capital, and others.

The company intends to use the funds to commercialize the platform and deploy its lamppost chargers.

Led by Founder and CEO Jeff Prosserman, Voltpost retrofits lampposts into Voltposts, a modular and upgradable charging platform powered by a mobile app.

From May 2022 to March 2023, the company participated in the DOT Studio, a partnership between the New York City Department of Transportation (NYC DOT) and Newlab. With this program, the company enabled to pilot lamppost charging in NYC and make progress towards the DOT’s goal to install 10,000 curbside chargers. Voltpost is conducting a second pilot at the Detroit Smart Parking Lab in Michigan. This project is supported by Next Energy, Ford, Bosch, Bedrock, and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.
