Rocsys, a Rijswijk, Netherlands-based provider of autonomous charging solutions for electric transportation, raised €33M in Series A funding.

The round was led by SEB Greentech Venture Capital, with participation from Graduate Entrepreneur, the European Investment Bank, and returning investor Forward.One.

The company intends to use the funds, which included a roughly equal split of debt and equity financing, to expand the capabilities of its platform as it scales its presence in the United States and Europe. The capital will support research and development into additional features, which include intelligent parking guidance, expanded software integrations for vehicle navigation and fleet management systems, and additional remote diagnostics and teleoperations support. Rocsys also plans to build out its North American division, headquartered in Portland, Oregon, to further support application engineering and customer service in the region while expanding local supply chain and manufacturing activities.

Led by CEO Crijn Bouman, Rocsys specializes in autonomous charging solutions for electric vehicles and equipment. With an approach combining soft robotics, AI-based computer vision, and data-driven services, it creates a charging experience for fleets and consumers ensuring reliability in charging by removing the risk of operator errors and maximizing efficiency, enhancing safety by limiting exposure to high-voltage equipment. The company can transform any existing charger into an autonomous system backed by a cloud-connected platform for support and integration with other fleet management tools. The solution works for consumer and fleet vehicles, including port equipment, industrial applications, heavy-duty, and more.

As part of the round, Rocsys added four new members to its Board of Advisors, including Mikko Huumo of SEB, Frederik Gerner, and Jan Willem Friso of Forward. One, and new chairperson Dr. Gregor Matthies.
