Planeteer Capital, a NYC-based new venture capital firm backing climate founders, launched.
Planeteer is anchor funded by an unnamed Ivy League endowment and backed by Limited Partners including a diverse group of institutional investors, large family offices, venture funds, and exited entrepreneurs, including Meta’s former CTO Mike Schroepfer.
Led by Sophie Purdom, and Hannah Friedman, the firm partners with founders at the Pre-Seed and Seed stage as their lead investor. Planeteer invests globally, across hardware and software, and preferences B2B businesses in emerging climate-impacted sectors such as carbon management, industrial decarbonization, built environment, climate intelligence and insurance, and sustainable agriculture.
The firm held a first close of an undisclosed amount in March and is actively investing.
