GlobalLogic Acquires Sidero

GlobalLogic, a Santa Clara, CA-based Hitachi Group company that specializes in Digital Engineering, acquired Sidero, an Athlone, Ireland-based engineering services and cloud-native software development company.

The terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Under the agreement, Sidero will continue to operate with its existing leadership and staff as a wholly owned subsidiary of GlobalLogic. The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approval and is expected to close in the second half of calendar 2023.

With the acquisition, GlobalLogic will bolster its capabilities in the dynamic Communications technology sector, and expand its European presence in Ireland.

Founded in 2013, and led by CEO Carmel Owens, Sidero builds mission critical software for Irish and global companies. As an Amazon Web Services (AWS) partner, the company is increasingly using Cloud Native to build, deploy and run software that leverages cloud computing, i.e., delivering applications that users want at the pace that business needs. Sidero has a team of 21 nationalities.

Led by CEO Nitesh Banga, GlobalLogic helps brands design and build products, platforms, and digital experiences by integrating experience design, complex engineering, and data expertise. The company operates design studios and engineering centers around the world, extending expertise to customers in the automotive, communications, financial services, healthcare and life sciences, manufacturing, media and entertainment, semiconductor, and technology industries.
