Fly.io Raises $70M in Series C Funding

Fly.io, a remote app delivery network company, raised $70M in Series C funding.

The round was led by EQT Ventures with participation from existing investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Dell Capital and Intel Capital.

The funding will help the company scale its regional presence, expand its server infrastructure and launch GPUs to support AI applications.

Led by CEO Kurt Mackey, Fly.io is a public cloud built specifically for developers and enables them to deploy an application globally in under 2 hours. Its compatibility with various programming languages allows developers to ship their existing apps on the platform and build upon them, offering an opportunity for companies to integrate computing capabilities into their own services.

Its virtual machines (that run applications and other services) have grown ~12X in the past year, including developers from companies like Fanatics, Tailscale, Supabase, Walmart Labs, and others. The company built its own public cloud on physical servers they own across 37 regions (& growing)

Last year, Fly.io launched a product where companies could build cloud services on top of their infrastructure, and now with increased demand from developers.
