Elemental Enzymes, St. Louis, MO-based company which specializes in enzyme, peptide, protein, and biological chemistry solutions, received an investment from Paine Schwartz.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
The company intends to use the funds to expand its business reach.
Led by CEO Brian Thompson, CEO, and Dr. Ashley Siegel, CSO, Elemental Enzymes provides cross-disciplinary scientific solutions to solve complex problems impacting growers today. It creates patented enzymes, peptides and biochemical solutions that improve nutrient uptake, water management and water use efficiency, plant health and yield, as well as disease protection. Its products are identified by three main uses:
- Nutrient Use Efficiency – increases fertilizer effectiveness by preventing absorption and binding to soils, volatilization, leaching and surface water runoff.
- Stress Mitigation – mitigates plant stress by reducing water vapor loss, increasing protein stability and content, and providing quicker plant recovery and sustained growth.
- Pest Pressure – complements fungicide resistance management programs by providing new crop spray timings that prevent disease earlier and more effectively.
The company will have 17 products in the market in 2023 sold through global commercial partners throughout five geographies, with 345 total patent applications. By 2027, Elemental Enzymes expects to launch 115 products across nine Active Ingredients.
