Dalan Animal Health, an Athens, GA-based biotech company which specializes in insect health, raised $4.5M in Seed 3 funding.
The round, which brought the total amount to $10M, was led by Prime Movers Lab with participation from At One Ventures.
The company intends to use the funds to expedite its product pipeline and expand its operations beyond the United States.
Led by CEO Annette Kleiser, Dalan Animal Health is a biotech company focused on insect health, providing sustainable solutions to ensure safe food supply. Its vaccine, designed to protect honeybees against the devastating American Foulbrood disease, recently approval of by the USDA.
The honey bee vaccine, manufactured by Diamond Animal Health (Des Moines, IA), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Heska (NASDAQ: HSKA), will initially be distributed on a limited basis to commercial beekeepers and queen producers.
