SquareX Raises $6M in Seed Funding

SquareX

SquareX, a Singapore-based company developing a browser-based cybersecurity product to keep consumers safe online, raised $6M in Seed funding.

The round was led by Sequoia Capital Southeast Asia.

The company will use the funds to expand its R&D-engineering and go-to-market efforts.

Led by Vivek Ramachandran, Founder, SquareX is engineering a cybersecurity product from the ground-up, purpose-built to tackle the current generation of threats. It integrates with the browser as an extension and monitors and protects users while they go about their online activities. It does this by leveraging its cloud service and enables users to open links and files in disposable browsers so that users are protected against any kind of potential threats. These cloud-powered temporary container sandboxes are headless browsers running in data centers on behalf of the user so that all web threats get neutralized and never reach the user’s computer. SquareX also enables users to keep their identity safe and private.

The company will be launching a beta version of their solution for a limited set of users beginning in May this year.
