Juggernaut Capital Partners, a middle market private equity investor in the consumer and healthcare sectors, invested in PLEZi Nutrition, a Washington, DC-based new mission-driven kids’ nutrition brand.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
PLEZi Nutrition offers products that provide the nutrients kids need and help to replace sugary drinks and snacks. Its first product is a kids’ drink called PLEZi, with 75% less sugar than the leading 100% fruit juices, no added sugar, plus fiber and nutrients like potassium, magnesium, and zinc.
Former First Lady Michelle Obama is a Co-Founder and Strategic Partner with PLEZi Nutrition.
In addition to its product innovation, the company will be an educational platform, using resources to engage families about what’s best for kids’ health, like drinking water and eating whole fruits and vegetables.
