Playtomic, a Madrid, Spain-based-based provider of a racket sports community and management software for racket sports, acquired Aircourts, a Lisbon, Portugal-based provider of sports reservation and club management platform in Portugal for an undisclosed sum.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
The acquisition will give Playtomic a strong foothold in Portugal, particularly in the padel market where AirCourts currently has 87% of the clubs. The AirCourts team, led by Andre Duarte and Pedro Pessanha, will join Playtomic and will continue to drive expansion efforts in Portugal.
Founded in 2015, AirCourts is sports reservation and club management platform serving more than 350 clubs and connecting more than 500,000 registered players. For sports facilities, the company provides club management software to improve bookings, streamline operations and attract new customers.
Led by CEO Felix Ruiz, Playtomic is a community and management software for racket sports. By leveraging technology to simplify booking courts with a social component, The company has become a mobile application for racquet sport players in the world, allowing users to play at over 4,800 clubs across 49 countries and more than 1 Million monthly active users. Recently, the company raised €56M in a funding round led by GP Bullhound.
